We're so glad you're here.
My name is Kelton, and I'm the sole leathercrafter behind all the leather goods you'll find here. My wife and I started Garbwerx in a small Texas town just outside of DFW in early 2025, born from our shared love of making things by hand. What started as a hobby quickly became a pursuit of craft, quality, and character.
At Garbwerx, we build leather goods fit for both faire and street with a focus on durability, old-world style, and everyday function. We believe in doing things the right way, not the fast way. And we believe the things you wear or carry every day should feel like they were made just for you.
We believe that true craftsmanship starts with quality materials and a devotion to timeless techniques. Whether a daily wear belt, a sheath worthy of a masterfully forged blade, a festival-ready pouch, or a finely crafted wallet, each piece born in our shop is made with care, precision, and an appreciation for the art of leatherworking.
Every item made at Garbwerx is crafted by a single pair of hands — designed, cut, stitched, and finished with care. There are no assembly lines, no mass production — just one maker humbly dedicated to creating high-quality leather goods that stand the test of time.
We are proudly veteran owned and operated. Our combined 18 years of service in the US Navy instilled in us a deep respect for attention to detail and doing the job right the first time — values which now shape everything we make here. From the tools we use to the care we take at every step, that mindset is stitched into the fabric of Garbwerx. More than simply craftsmanship, its discipline, pride, and purpose in every piece.
Thanks for stopping by and supporting small makers, it means more than you know.
Our Leather: Quality Over Compromise
Not all leather is created equal. Many mass-produced items use “genuine leather,” a misleading term that often refers to lower-quality, processed leather with fillers and coatings that wear out quickly. At Garbwerx, we use only full-grain leather, the highest quality available, from world-renound tanneries such as Badalassi Carlo, Walpier, La Bretagna, Tempesti, Wickett & Craig and Horween. Full-grain leather retains the natural texture and strength of the hide, developing a rich patina over time that tells the story of its journey with you.
Ethics & Sustainability
We take great care in selecting our leather, choosing hides that are not only durable but also responsibly sourced. We use sustainably produced and vegetable-tanned leather, a process that relies on natural tannins rather than harsh chemicals. This method not only extends the life of the leather but also reduces environmental impact.
If you would like to know more about our specific leather-sourcing practices, please feel free to reach out through our Contact page or on Instagram. We're always happy to discuss where our leather comes from and why we choose it.
For Those Who Appreciate the Difference
Whether you’re an everyday carry enthusiast, a Rennaissance faire patron, a LARPer, reenactor, or someone who simply values local, handmade quality, Garbwerx is here to provide unique, functional, and durable leather items that stand apart from mass-market alternatives.
By choosing Garbwerx, you’re not just purchasing a leather product — you’re investing in a piece of timeless craftsmanship designed to last for years to come, because we believe that in a world of fast fashion and disposable goods, there’s still a place for artistry, tradition, and materials that only get better with time.
Honey's Latherwerx
(Coming Soon!)
Garbwerx is built on craftsmanship and the idea that the best things are made by hand with care and attention, built to last, and meant to be enjoyed — and that doesn't stop at leather. Inspired by old-world traditions and a passion for quality, Honey's Latherwerx is a labor of love which carries this same spirit into the art of soapmaking. Small batch handcrafted by my better half and Mistress of Scents, each bar or bottle blends simple, time-honored ingredients with rich, inviting scents that transport you to another time.
Just like our leather goods, these soaps are made to be used, loved, and appreciated. Whether you're washing away the dust from a long day at the faire, preparing for a well-earned night at the mead hall, or just enjoy the feel of something handcrafted, these soaps are lovingly designed to bring a touch of warmth and indulgence into your world.
